First Steps in the Journey

The story of lamprey in the Columbia River system is both fascinating and compelling.

I am one member of a team that is gathering data for the purpose of modeling favorable lamprey and salmon habitat in the River. My responsibility is to focus on lamprey life cycle and habitat. In doing so, I have begun to learn about the role of lamprey in the complex and interdependent web of life. In my journey this summer I will be accompanied by interns Althea Walker and Megan Flier, mentors Pat Welle, Jesse Lopez and Mojgan Rostaminia, senior mentors António Baptista (OHSU) and Phil Roger (CRITFC), and adviser Vanessa Green. With all this support, I am positive that our project will be a success!
