Week one: 06/22/09-06/26/09

Hello again everyone!
This is now my 3rd year as a summer intern here at CMOP and I'm glad I'm back. Every year things get better here at CMOP. I remember the first year I was here there were only two high school interns, including myself, last year there were five and now this year there are nine of us.

This year I am working on a different project but I'm not sure what it's exactly about, all I know is that it has to do with the research cruises and analyzing data. The interns that are working on the same project as me are Matthew, Maria and Alma. I am looking forward to getting to know them more and working together. 

What I have accomplish this week:

  • Wrote an essay about what CMOP is,
  • an essay explaining what underwater gliders are and do,
  • and a paper about wind-driven circulation

Highlights of this week:

  • I got to meet all the high school interns and the undergraduate interns
  • Went to the Primate Center on Thursday for lunch.

 I'm happy to be back once again and I hope to have a productive and exciting summer here at CMOP.
