Week 4: July 13-18

Monday: Grant gave me three things to do:
1) Predict the time difference between the maximum change in salinity and maximum turbidity during each change in tide
2) Find the correlation between tidal range and the magnitude of turbidity
3) Do all analyses with regard to all classes of turbidity spikes

I made progress with the first goal. I got some results, but will need to revise and improve them. I made a small amount of progress on the second goal, although not enough to make any conclusions.

Tuesday: I continued my work with the goals from Monday. I did some statistical analyses on the information about salinity and turbidity. I found correlations between tidal range and turbididty. I also found the amount of time between tidal extremes and maximum turbidities. I did statistical analyses on these as well.

Wednesday: Grant instructed me to do some of the same work I had been doing, but this time find the time interval between when salinity hits a certain number ( 5 psu, for instance) and the maximum turbidity value. I began to make powerpoint presentation.

Thursday: I found the time difference between when salinity is 10 psu and turbidity reaches it's maximum value. I added it to my powerpoint presentation. Also, Khalilha and I were visited by our teacher monitor and we filled out surveys. After that, Khalilha and I discussed the Symposium and began to plan what we will do.

Friday: Khalilha and I continued to work on our poster and powerpoint presentation for the symposium.
