Week 5: Databases, Drifters, and Dirt
Here are some pictures from week 4.
7/12/10
Katie and I prepared the drifters for Tuesday's teacher's workshop by taking them apart. We tried to get the drifter's GPS to triangulate but had some difficulties. I think it found itself eventually, though.
7/13/10
I did some last minute preparing for the workshop, then the teachers came and I helped them reassemble the drifters that Katie and I had disassembled the day before.
7/14/10
Katie, Greta, and I installed the CO2 sensor at SAT 04, then Katie and I went to a metal shop in Warrenton to pick up some pieces for a new frame for the Conductivity/ Temperature sensor at the Desdemona Station. Then I swept the work area because it was filthy and because I didn't want to work on the computer. I also got to help/watch Katie arc weld some metal strips to the pieces we picked up earlier.
7/15/10
With some help from Charles Seaton and some online tutorials, I figured out how to access the cmop database, and pull data from it using python code.
7/16/10
I went on a tour of OHSU with the other interns.
7/17/10
I went on a hike on Mt. Hood with Sheedra, Eduan, and Ethan. It was a lot of fun. Eduan's phone wouldn't stop ringing from all his family calling and wishing him happy birthday.
